DIALECTIC POST #2: MATILDA MOVIE

The movie Matilda tells the story of a smart, skilled young lady who uses her uncommon powers to stand up against her neglectful parents and a cruel school principal.

The thesis is that you may overcome problems by using your inner strength and intelligence. Because of her brilliant mind and telekinetic abilities, Matilda defends herself and others in opposition to bullying.

On the other hand, the movie's authoritative characters such as Matilda's parents and her cruel principal, Miss Trunchbull, represent the opposite. They try to suppress Matilda's gifts, indicating how those in power often reject uniqueness.

The synthesis occurs as Matilda discovers how to combine kindness and intelligence, especially with Miss Honey. It allows her to see that, although intelligence is important, compassion is also very important. Through the combination of her skills and compassion, Matilda brings out positive change in her life.
